i've been hearing about kyo chon chicken... my wife first had it a couple of years ago in korea and said it was grubbin... the other day bTU at work said he wanted to try it. so i looked it up and found there was one in the old blue note plaza in GG. they put in a freshia market where the food 4 less used to be. anyways, this place is the real deal. the soy garlic sauce chicken is the bomb. the spicy sweet sauce is pretty good to, but its pretty spicy. i think simon, the fried chicken lover will like this place. and no, he's not black... if the brotha's got a hold of this grub, i think popeye's would go out of bidness...

had to come to dallas, but im not down with doing overnight trips in dallas. there really is nothing here. people in dallas seem to love dallas. for me, its just REALLY hot... luckily it wasnt that humid or anything... personally, im happy to be going back to the OC...

go go ma for the mama in law...
yesterday was annette's mom's bday. we had sushi at taiko restaurant in irvine and then her parent's came over to our house for the first time. it was nice and they weren't critical at all about anything in the house, so that was really cool...
we had go go ma cake for the birthday (sweet potato cake) from paris baguette, a korean bakery. it looks REALLY tasty, but i thought it was just okay... ill save some and give a slice to dave since he likes all baked goods... (BMCB)...

At taps 10% beer...
We went to Taps in Brea for Sandy's birthday on Sat night. I've eaten the expensive brunch here which is pretty good. I was a bit dissapointed with dinner. I had a overcooked Halibut. wife had Scallops on Risotto... the Risotto had less cheese and was in a tomato based sauce. I've definitely had better...
However, TAPS does serve the Jefferson Ale, which has about 10% alchohol... I just went for the Hef and the Cream Ale which were really good....
15th hole at Diamond Bar
Wow, sure was hot this weekend... Diamond Bar isn't that great of a course, but it's cheap. This is the view after my drive on 15. Had 190 left into the wind. Left a 6 iron short, but got up and down for my 3rd birdie of the day! I was pleased with a 78 after being 5 over after 5 holes...

rollin' AK
so Anthony Kim won the AT&T last weekend, which is cool and all but it's dope that he rocks this AK belt buckle... apparently, it's a custom made thing. I was hopin to get my hands on one since my initials are AK as well... so I searched around the internet, but this is all I found. I don't have money to get a custom made belt buckle, so perhaps I'll just have to settle for the "AK-47" buckle...

Irvine... DUH
I usually don't take Jamboree to work. I pay the extra $.50 to take the toll road in to bypass about 10 min worth of traffic. However, today I stopped by the cleaners in the morning so I had to take Jamboree...
I noticed the most retarded thing, and am convinced that Irvine is run by a bunch of idiots... Right after the 5 fwy, there are 2 lights about 200 yds away from each other. Every day there is a traffic jam here from about 7:30AM. Why do you ask? Today I noticed that when the first light turns green, the second light is red, meaning you get to travel 200 yds before you stop again. It causes a backup because so few cars can actually get through the intersection. Then when the first light turns red, the second light turns green, which is useless because only 10 or so cars were actually able to get through the first light. Wouldn't you think that it would help the traffic if the lights were coordinated so that when the first light turns green, that the second light also turns green allowing more cars to pass through the intersection at a time??? Okay, I'm running for mayor.....
4th of July Weekend
This past 4th of July weekend was oh so tiring... Kinda sad that I didn't get to spend it with the wife as she was with her friends in Cabo. I'm glad she got back safe and is not working on a shrimp boat somewhere off the coast of Baja...
Anyways, on the 4th Dave and I played golf at Coyote Hills, aka Coyote Ugly. The course played better than I remembered, but still not my favorite. After the round we ended up at P-shunk's house for our traditional 4th of July celebration. In addition it's Christopher's b-day. I have pics below. I'm really bad at posting format, but it's because I just send in pics from the Bberry. I really don't have time to manage the posts... However, I'm doing this one while eating lunch so it's cool...

I rounded out the weekend with a second round of golf at Los Verdes (Tournament) and a BBQ at Art's house.
